Drummond Co. Inc. is principally engaged in the business of mining, purchasing, processing and selling of coal and coal derivatives. It primarily produces low sulfur or compliance coal, meeting Phase II requirements of the 1990 Amendments to the Clean Air Act. In addition to its coal and coke production, Drummond also has a sizeable presence in real estate. Drummond also acquired Perry Supply, a mining and foundry supply distributor; Perry is now one of the largest divisions of Drummond. Founded in 1935 by H.E. Drummond, the privately-held Drummond Co. Inc. is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.
