About
SkillSoft Ltd. is a privately-held provider of e-learning and performance support solutions for global enterprises, government, education and small to medium-sized businesses. SkillSoft specializes in creating comprehensive e-learning content, online information resources, flexible learning technologies and support services for businesses. Founded in 1998, SkillSoft reached its most recent state after a merger between SmartForce and SkullSoft Corporation in November 2002. The privately-held company provides SaaS on-demand training under a variety of brand such as Books24x7 and inGenius; many of the collections are offered in localized languages such as Spanish, French and German. Formerly known as CBT Group, SkillSoft acquired NETg in 2007 (Please see PrivCo's M&A activity table for more details). In May 2010, SkillSoft was taken private in a leveraged buyout transaction by a consortium of private equity firms. Skillsoft is headquartered in Nashua, New Hampshire.
